exifdata
EXIF is short for Exchangeable Image File, a format that is a standard for storing interchange information in digital photography image files using JPEG compression. Almost all new digital cameras use the EXIF annotation, storing information on the image such as shutter speed, exposure compensation, F number, what metering system was used, if a flash was used, ISO number, date and time the image was taken, whitebalance, auxiliary lenses that were used and resolution. Some images may even store GPS information so you can easily see where the images were taken!

How do I find EXIF data on a photo?
On a Windows PC using File Explorer right-click on the file you want to see the data for. You will see a window pop up with various options. Click on Properties and then on Details. This will bring up the EXIF data for that photo.
EXIF data can do more than simply show you your shooting settings. If you use browsing or cataloguing software like Adobe Bridge or Lightroom, you can filter and sort your images using the EXIF data. For example, you could find all the photos taken on a specific day, or with a specific camera or lens.
